Donovan Woods

Donovan Woods is an Oklahoma artist who works mostly in acrylic on canvas. He has also produced murals, sketch work, and oil paintings, and much of his work is available for sale at Art Central in OKC.

"I make everything from portraits and landscapes to still life and pop art. Recently I made 2 series of dog and cat portraits where they are all in medieval costume (images attached). I made them for the Medieval Fair in Norman, but after naming them all and devising backstories, I've begun writing a novel with them. I've also recently specialized a lot more into pop art, focusing on video game characters painted in styles of Monet, Van Gogh, Bilibin, etc. I like to reimagine them in various ways. You'll see a pointillism dragon example attached, as well as an attempt to mimic a Byzantine-era icon (but featuring anamorphic cats)."
