Beverly Moore

born 1974, McLoud, OK

Beverly has enjoyed making arts & crafts her whole life and is constantly on the lookout for new ways to express her creativity and artistic views.  She refers to videos and how-to books to help her find the best strategy for realizing what her mind visualizes.

Beverly is most passionate about beading and painting and feels these two mediums best bring her imagination to life.  She has done beadwork for the past five years and painted for about two years. When she is immersed in her beadwork, she feels a special connection to her Ojibwe ancestors. Although she has wanted to learn to paint for the last 20 years, it’s only been during incarceration that she’s had the opportunity to do so. For this she says she feels blessed.

Beverly made a living as an apartment manager.

A special thanks to Poetic Justice Tulsa for advocating for Oklahoma’s incarcerated women and promoting their artwork.
