As I work on my art, I am constantly exploring how improve. I am a self-taught artist and have no ridged guide lines of procedures. If one technique is not successful I try another process, this could be seen at as a mistaken path. In the end I learn more from failures rather than success. I see the process as 3 steps forward… not 1 step forward 2 back. I start by questioning myself .. “ I wonder if this will work? “ I find myself “In the Zone.” This is magically, as time is suspended and energy flows. More often than not, before I’m aware, I have completed a piece of art, I am always amazed by this. My inspiration comes from keeping my eyes open. I study light how it defines the object it falls upon. I will see a shape or form that excites me and consider what to create from those thoughts. My close friend has a farm, it’s my Art Supply Store, rusty gems abound on any farm. I also doodle by putting the pencil on the paper and let the energy flow. I live a creative life and through that I find inspiration. An artist mission is to make the viewer think. I have had people ask me “what does this piece mean? I reply “what do you think it means?” Then we compare notes.
