Lisa Barthold

Sapulpa, OK

I don't like plans and I think  my art reflects that , there is no method to my madness . I like color and I like whimsy . My pieces are puzzles without the box that tells you what it's supposed to look like when it's done. I am always surprised , kinda goes for my life too

I am self taught.I have always gone to thrift stores , I buy colorful dishes and the usual vintage stuff but then there's the weird things , people always ask me what are you going to do with 5 lbs of rusty nails or buttons or 10 wrenches or whatever thing I feel the need to buy, but , at the time I don't have a clue what masterpiece will it become  . Then, 2 years later it will be exactly what I need and I am ready to art.

I took a stained glass class and ended up buying 5lbs of leftover glass scraps and found myself a new medium and that's what I am doing now .

I've done some pieces that are all glass and some that are made with plates and broken pottery. I don't plan anything ,  it just  kinda shows up .918.908.1799
