Build your own professional mold and deckle from teak wood! This workshop will teach the student how to design their own mold and deckle using one of the world’s best woods for use in water. The first day includes designing and determining the lengths of the wooden pieces, cutting the wood down to the right width and length, creating the underneath ribs to keep the screen flat, creating a lap joint for each of the corners, gluing, and clamping them for overnight drying. The second day is dowel rodding the corners together, sanding and creating the screen system for the top of the mold.
