In  this 4 week session we will work with translucent fibers like abaca and  flax. Students will explore sheet forming, laminate 3D casting,  shrinkage, as well as laminating translucent sheets with various kinds  and thicknesses of pulps to create imagery and texture in 2D pieces.
About Cat
Cat  has a BFA in Fiber from the Kansas City Art Institute. She was formerly  the Residency and Studio Programs Director at Dieu Donné in New York  City following an assistantship at Pyramid Atlantic. During her tenure  at Dieu Donné she collaborated with many artists to make original and  editioned works in the contemporary hand paper making medium. Cat is  currently the Pastry Chef at FarmBar and you can frequently find her  teaching sourdough workshops.
