Linda Stilley Artist Statement
During my lifetime of making art I've collected many memories, objects and ideas. These have been stored in my studio for years: from art that didn’t work to crazy things I’ve saved. Remnants fill my space. The revival of these objects and materials transformed into the various works created here. I’ve enjoyed an odd satisfaction using these hoarded ideas and objects. Best of all...my love of clay has returned. I’m “in love” once again.
Sarah Bliss Artist Statement
My life has many divergent and converging paths. As a psychiatrist on an inpatient psychiatric crisis unit, I attempt to help my patients find a path out of the darkness of despair or psychosis. This is a consuming, difficult, important and tiring task. And to be able to continue it with empathy and energy, I spend weeks backpacking in the wilderness. These days are filled with quiet, as I follow faint paths and trails, finding remnants of the animals that live in these remote places. It is here that my soul rejoices in the vastness, astounding beauty, power, and implacable indifference of nature.
Kim Doner Artist’s Statement
Over the last few years, I’ve watched so many women I know be knocked out of the sky by loss, then gather themselves back up to reinvent their lives, myself included.
It’s what we do.
We rebirth ourselves, recreate ourselves, building back from whatever we find left in the ashes, moving forward in another form but still… moving forward.
Some learn to walk again.
Some learn to fly.
