An exhibit of approximately 8-10 mixed media works from a series titled Artifacts. This series consists of dimensional woven tapestry-like collages and 3d assemblages. Some are more 3 dimensional than others, but they are all meant to be wall mounted except for 1 freestanding centerpiece. These works are constructed from a collection of recycled abstract paintings, fabrics, textile designs, yarn, found objects, cultural souvenirs, and keepsakes. The pieces in “Artifacts” are informed by content that ranges from ancestral traditions and archaeology, to art history, sci-fi, and personal narrative. This range is reflected through the additive processes of combining traditional craft materials with collaged paintings and objects.
