How to Build a Better Canvas

Participants will learn how to build their own canvases from start to finish. This will include; 

-what to look for when buying lumber

-methods for cutting/safety 

-techniques for assembly of stretcher frame

-how to stretch canvas and tips for stretching completed works

-techniques for using gesso to tighten or repair canvases

Participants will observe a brief educational demonstration before being assisted through the process by the instructor. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a fully functional well built canvas and knowledge to complete the task on their own in the future. 

Supplies Needed: Canvas Pliers, light duty staple gun

Supplies Provided: lumber, wood glue, canvas, nail gun
